ShipToFix Repair Warranty — 90 Days on Parts & Labor

Every repair we perform is backed by a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. If the same issue returns within 90 days of your return shipping date, we fix it free — including free return shipping.

What’s Covered

The 90-day warranty covers:

  • The specific part we replaced (e.g., HDMI port, charging port, hard drive)
  • The specific labor we performed (e.g., port reballing, BGA rework)
  • Free return shipping if the warranty repair is needed

If the same component fails for the same reason within 90 days, we repair it again at no charge. Most warranty claims are resolved within 1-3 business days of receiving the device back.

What’s NOT Covered

The 90-day warranty does NOT cover:

  • New failures of different components. If we fixed your HDMI port and your hard drive fails a month later, the hard drive repair is a separate paid repair.
  • Damage from new physical events. Dropping the device after the repair, liquid spills, power surges, or other accidents.
  • Damage from unauthorized repair attempts. If you (or another shop) open the device after our repair and break something, that voids the warranty.
  • Normal wear and tear. Thermal paste degrades over time; batteries lose capacity. These are not covered.
  • Devices shipped in violation of our packaging guidelines that arrive damaged in shipping.

Data Recovery Warranty

Data recovery is a “best-effort” service. If we recover your data, you pay for the recovery. If we cannot recover any data, you pay only the return shipping ($12) — no recovery fee. Once recovered data is delivered to you, we do not warranty the recovered data medium (we recommend copying recovered data to a fresh drive immediately).

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you experience the same issue within 90 days of your return shipping date:

  1. Email [email protected] with your original repair ticket number and a description of the issue.
  2. We respond within a few business hours to confirm warranty coverage.
  3. Ship the device back to us (we email a prepaid return label).
  4. We repair it free and ship it back free. Total turnaround: 3-5 business days.

Why 90 Days?

90 days is enough time to confirm the repair was successful. Most latent issues (cold solder joints, partially failed capacitors) show up within the first 30 days. If a repair holds for 90 days under normal use, it’s a permanent fix.

For comparison: most OEM repair warranties are 90 days to 1 year. Big-box electronics retailers (Geek Squad, etc.) typically offer 30-90 days. We sit at the longer end of the industry standard.

Extended Warranty Options

For high-value repairs (Surface Pro logic board, MacBook GPU, full console refurbishment), we offer extended warranty upgrades at checkout:

  • Standard: 90 days (included free)
  • Extended: 6 months — +15% of repair cost
  • Premium: 12 months — +25% of repair cost

Extended warranty can be added at the time of the original repair or up to 30 days after.
