Repair for ripped or missing HDMI port pads/traces on any motherboard.
When an HDMI port snaps off a motherboard — usually from a forced cable, a drop, or a failed DIY port replacement — the four small copper pads under the port often come with it. These pads are the only electrical path between the port and the GPU/controller chip. Without them, the port cannot be reattached no matter how good the new connector is. Trace repair is the micro-soldering work to rebuild those pads, one at a time.
Works on any board with a damaged HDMI port pad. Commonly used on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Wii U, Switch docking station, and TVs. If you do not know how many pads are missing, count the small rectangular copper pads that should sit under the port (usually 4 main data pads + 1 shield pad = count what is missing).
What this service includes
- Microscopic inspection of the missing pads
- Hand-fabricated copper trace per pad using 38 AWG wire and UV-curable solder mask
- Re-tinning of the rebuilt pads to accept a new port
- Continuity test from rebuilt pad to the controller chip leg
- 90-day warranty on the rebuilt trace
How the mail-in repair works
Add 1 to cart for each missing pad, then checkout. We email a packing slip same business day. Ship just the motherboard (no full console, no heatsink, no drives) in an anti-static bag inside a padded mailer. Turnaround is typically 3–7 business days depending on board complexity. We ship back with tracking.
If you could not place the new port on the rebuilt pads, please also purchase the HDMI port replacement service — the port replacement is done after the pads are rebuilt, and they are not included in this trace-repair listing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I count my missing pads?
Look at where the HDMI port sits on the motherboard. There are typically 4 small rectangular copper pads in a row that the port solders to. Count how many are visibly missing (lifted, torn, or with the copper peeled off). Each pad is one quantity of this repair.
Do I also need a new HDMI port?
Probably. If the original port snapped off and took the pads with it, the port is usually damaged too. We strongly recommend adding a port replacement service when you check out.
Can I send the entire console instead of just the motherboard?
You can, but you will pay more in shipping. If you are comfortable removing the board, send just the motherboard. We have tear-down guides for most consoles — contact us first if you want guidance.
How long is the warranty?
90 days from return shipment on the rebuilt trace. Does not cover subsequent physical damage.
What if my board has more than 4 pads missing?
That means the damage is severe but still repairable in most cases. Just add the right quantity (one per missing pad) and we will quote any board-specific complications before starting work.
